European Orchid Essences

European Orchid Essences
There are 264 species of orchids in Europe including the Mediterranean rim. There are countless in tropical rainforests. Orchids are one of the youngest species in the evolution of the plant kingdom. With an estimated 25,000 to 35,000 varieties worldwide, orchids have reached the greatest variety of forms, even imitating insects, organs or symbols. The orchids, which even take the form of angels, are particularly surprising! This incredible imagery, with this variety of shapes and colors, shows the very high energetic specialization of orchids. Like other plants, orchids from Europe and the Mediterranean are connected to the earth with their roots and are therefore directly connected to it. Similarly, they are energetically connected to the human body.

Many native orchid species grow on meadows that are used by humans. The big "but" of this fact, however, is that orchids are very sensitive to intensification of use - for example in the form of fertiliser. They are then very uncompetitive and are crowded out by other species.

Most orchids occur rarely or very rarely. For this reason, all native orchids are given special protection under the Federal Nature Conservation Act.
